Privacy
Privacy policy.

SiliconTAB is a technology publication. We publish articles, host a few free in-browser tools, and run a small analytics setup to understand which writing is useful. The short version: we collect pseudonymous page-view data on silicontab.com only, after you accept cookies; we do not sell anything; there is no account to create; the browser-based tools at tools.silicontab.com collect nothing at all.
Who runs this site
SiliconTAB is operated as a personal publication. For privacy questions, contact privacy@silicontab.com.
What we collect, and when
Nothing until you choose. On your first visit to silicontab.com we show a cookie banner. Analytics only runs if you press Accept. If you press Reject, or close the banner without choosing, nothing non-essential is set and Google Analytics fires zero cookies and zero identifiable requests from your device.
After consent, we collect: page URL, referring page, country at the city level, device type, browser, screen size, approximate session length. We do not collect your name, email, IP in full (it is anonymised on Google's side via anonymize_ip), or any form of cross-site identifier.
The tools subdomain tools.silicontab.com is tracking-free. Our Content Security Policy blocks all outbound analytics calls from those pages.
Legal basis (GDPR)
For readers in the EU/UK/EEA, our legal basis for analytics is consent under GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy Art. 5(3). You give that consent through the cookie banner and can withdraw it at any time via the cookies page, which re-opens the banner for you.
Processors
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, with onward processing by Google LLC in the United States) under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses. Google's own privacy policy applies to that processing; see policies.google.com/privacy. Hosting is provided by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) for the static site; Cloudflare receives your IP address at the edge in order to serve the page.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; object to processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a supervisory authority. Since we store nothing identifiable server-side, the fastest access/deletion path is the browser itself: clear site data in your browser settings, or re-open the banner via the cookies page and press Reject. For any formal request, email privacy@silicontab.com.
Children
SiliconTAB is written for working engineers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe we have, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, re-prompt for consent through the banner.
