Colophon

How this site is built.

A short record of the stack, type, and principles behind SiliconTAB. We publish this because readers who care about how a thing is made deserve to see the seams.

Set in

Typography

Display and editorial headlines are set in Fraunces, a variable serif by Phaedra Charles and Flavia Zimbardi at Undercase Type. Optical sizing is enabled, so headlines gain contrast and personality as they grow.

Body copy, UI, and navigation are set in Geist Sans, a neutral variable sans designed by Vercel for screen reading. Code is set in Geist Mono, its monospaced sibling.

Both families are self-hosted. No runtime font CDN. All three are SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Built with

Stack

SiliconTAB is a static Next.js app written in TypeScript, with Tailwind v4 driving the token layer. Articles are MDX files in a Git repository; publishing is a git push. The site is deployed to Cloudflare Workers Static Assets at the edge, with long-cache immutable headers on hashed assets and a strict content security policy on every path.

The tools subdomain at tools.silicontab.com runs the same way — static files on the edge, no server runtime, no database.

What we promise

Principles

Nothing you do on this site is tracked. No analytics beacons, no third-party cookies, no newsletter modals, no account. Articles are readable without JavaScript. Open the inspector — the page is what it says it is.
